Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

We hope the below frequently asked questions are helpful, however, if that is not the case, please feel free to give us a call at 941-253-6327. We would love to hear from you.

Q. Why should I hire you to watch my home instead of asking a neighbor?

A. Having a neighbor stop in periodically as a favor to check your home may initially seem like a good idea. However, when a serious issue arises or you need someone to take swift action on your behalf, your property can quickly become an imposition to your neighbor. That is why it is important to have a trained professional methodically inspect your home, complete a detailed inspection report per visit, and have the ability to swiftly coordinate licensed professionals to assist in the repair and maintenance of your home when something goes awry. Our clients can rest easy knowing their homes are being taken care of by accredited, bonded, certified and insured professionals.

Q. Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

A. There is a contract to sign, however, this contract gives us on-going authorization to enter your home for our inspections while you are away. This can be cancelled at any time with 30 days notice.

Q. Can you provide proof of insurance?

A. Yes, we are happy to provide this information and always have it on hand.

Q. Is Manatee home watch a member of the National home watch association?

A. Yes, we are a proud member, in good standing with the National Home Watch Association (NHWA).

Q. How often will you inspect my home?

A. Unforeseen damage can happen at any time, especially in an unoccupied or vacant home. For example, your A/C compressor may go out, leaving your home victim to humid and stagnant air, causing the potential growth and spread of mold spores. A ceiling leak from a second floor condo may cause costly water damage to your property. Many things can go wrong in 30 day period inside and outside of an unoccupied property. That is why we strongly recommend at least 2 to 4 homewatch inspection visits per month.

Q. Are you a Home Inspector or Mold Inspector?

A. We like to make it clear to our clients that we are not home inspectors or mold inspectors. Those lines or work carry a much different degree of training and require state certifications. We are home watch professionals. We visually inspect your home or property looking for obvious issues. If we notices any abnormalities, we immediately report it to you and assist in the coordination of licensed professionals to remedy the issue on your behalf. We are your trusted advocate in your absence.

Q. What is a Home Watch IT Inspection report?

A. Here is a short video that shows our reporting system in action!
